33 year old Larry Tyree of 812 Sycamore Street in Carmi was arrested on Wednesday, October 20th just after 6 PM by the White County Sheriff’s Department on two felony warrants and is being held without bond at the White County Jail.
Tyree was previously placed on probation for Criminal Damage to Property, a class 4 felony in November of 2018. After admitting to violating his probation in October 2020, he was given a sentencing hearing date of January 2021, which he failed to appear for, with another sentencing hearing set for May 2021. After not showing up for that hearing, a Failure to Appear warrant was issued and served, with another sentencing hearing set for August 2021. Tyree was released, and then, you guessed it, after failing to appear at the August hearing, Tyree was sentenced in his absence by Judge T. Scott Webb to five years and 11 months in the Illinois Department of Corrections, one month short of the maximum sentence.
Tyree also has pending charges of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, a class 2 felony; Criminal Trespass to Vehicles, a class A misdemeanor; and Criminal Trespass to Real Property, a class B misdemeanor, which were filed when he was on bond.
