Wheat Harvest; All But Done

Crop Report

 

Wheat harvest is all but complete in the state and corn and soybeans are about 50 percent good. That’s according to the latest crop report from the USDA.

 

There were 3.4 days suitable for field work during the week ending July 04, 2021.

 

Statewide, the average temperature was 74.2 degrees, 0.4 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 1.35 inches, 0.32 inches above normal.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 3 percent very short, 13 percent short, 67 percent adequate, and 17 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 5 percent very short, 15 percent short, 71 percent adequate, and 9 percent surplus.

 

Corn silking reached 14 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 22 percent.

Corn condition was rated 2 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 27 percent fair, 46 percent good, and 19 percent excellent.

 

Soybean blooming reached 22 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 23 percent. Soybeans condition was rated 3 percent very poor, 7 percent poor, 27 percent fair, 46 percent good, and 17 percent excellent.

 

Winter wheat harvested for grain reached 87 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 82 percent.
