The Carmi American Legion baseball team got doubled up Wednesday night, falling by a 6-3 score to Grayville. Cal York took the loss pitching 4 and a third innings. He was responsible for all 6 runs, only 2 were earned however giving up 4 hits while striking out 5 and walking just 1. Devin Rankin came on for the final inning and two-thirds allowing just one hit and striking out 4 of the 6 batters he faced. York did his best to help his cause going 2 for 4 from the dish and driving in 1. Noah Sweeny and Ty Stubblefield had the other RBI’s for Post 224. Carmi continues to suffer from unforced errors committing 4 on the day. The loss drops the Legion team to 3-2 on the young season. Up next, Coach Pat Stewart’s battery will host Highland for a double header this Saturday beginning at 1pm.
