Lady Bulldogs and Lady Foxes Compete at State Track and Field Meet

Carmi White County and Hamilton County track and field athletes competed at the state track meet yesterday.  Jessica Smith finished 24^th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.29 seconds.  Even though she finished 24^th, Smith was just 1.19 seconds behind the top finisher.  Hamilton County’s Desirae Dockery finished 26^th.  Smith also qualified for the 200 meters and turned in a time of 28.10 seconds, good enough for 28^th.  Maddie Karcher ran the mile at state for Ham Co coming in 23^rd with a time of 6:01.43.  Two Lady Foxes qualified for the 3200.  Maddie Karcher finished the 2 mile in 12:48.10, a new school record and good enough for 17^th.  Teammate Ashlee Wellen finished 25^th with a time of 13:31.03.  Kalei Burchfield competed in the Discus at state finishing 22^nd with a toss of 27.38 meters.  Emersyn Robbins of Fairfield took 13^th in the Long Jump with a leap of 5.02 meters, a personal record.

The boys state track meet will be held at Eastern Illinois University next Thursday, June 17^th.
