New hires for the Carmi-White County school system. Following executive session at Monday night’s Unit 5 School Board meeting, officials have announced the hiring of multiple new staff. Carmi White County alum Griffin Hart will be employed as a Special Education teacher at Brownsville next year pending his certification. Hart will be taking over for Jennifer O’Daniel who is being reassigned. Additionally, Jennifer Barbre will serve as a part time Pre-K teacher and interventionist at Lincoln. She’ll take over for Kaylea Chappelle after her reassignment. Hovey Harris has been hired as a building volunteer at Jefferson. Kesley Slay has been hired at Washington as a Special Education teacher. She’ll take over for the retiring Carol Potter. Megan King and Heather Millhorn will serve as Junior High Cheerleading Co-Sponsors. Finally, Sherri Stokes has been hired as the District Bookkeeper. She’ll take over for Joy McCully who has been reassigned.
