Vaccine May Not Be Available Yet for All Who Qualify

(Springfield, IL)  —  More people are eligible for the coronavirus vaccine in Illinois, but that doesn’t mean they will actually get the shot. The Illinois Department of Public Health yesterday opened-up the second part of Phase 1b eligibility. That covers mostly people with underlying health conditions and pregnant women. But the state says there are not enough vaccine doses to guarantee that everyone who is now eligible will get a shot when they want. The state broke a record Wednesday, vaccinating 130-thousand people.  Governor J.B. Pritzker says he expects to hit the 100-thousand doses a day mark in mid-March.
