Coffee lovers have a lot to look forward to, especially given these frigid cold winter days. Amber Ackerman-Knight will open 103 Grounded in Grace in the near future at it’s new location across from the downtown Carmi studios of WROY/WRUL, 103 Main in Carmi. The major benefits of their new location, aside from the new coffee shop, include giving The Print Shop which also made the move to the fresh location significantly more room, both for employees to work, and also giving consumers a much larger area from which to shop for apparel. Ackerman-Knight explains the layout.
Folks in the area have been commenting for years on social media their desire to have a real coffee shop. Amber says she’s confident the new business venture will be successful based on that clamoring, made even more evident by those people who are craving Starbucks-like coffee choices. In her own words, she describes what customers can expect to see when they walk in 103 Grounded in Grace and some of the drink options you’ll be able to choose from.
To begin with when the coffee shop does open, you’ll also be able to buy pre packaged snacks if you’re wanting something to eat with your coffee. She says she expects they’ll eventually venture into making some of their own baked goods, but they’re taking baby steps. She says taking that on as well would’ve just been too much with not only opening the coffee shop but also moving the entire Print Shop business as well. She credits her employees for making it possible for her to have as much going on as she does. Her newest employee will be integral in making sure that 103 Grounded in Grace does well, that’s her new barista.
There’s still no specific opening date, but Ackerman-Knight promises it’s coming soon. She says they simply want to be ready and to make sure they have all their I’s dotted and T’s crossed.
