The White County Board will meet Tuesday, February 9th, at 7:00 PM at the White County Courthouse. With respect to the Circuit Court, they ask that you please wear a mask when entering the building and courtroom and maintain a social distance. Once seated, you may remove your mask.
The Board will consider the resignation of Doug Maier as White County Sheriff effective March 1, 2021, the appoint of Randy Graves to acting White County Sheriff to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Sheriff Maier beginning March 1, 2021 till the next election cycle, donations to Carmi White County Senior Citizens for $4,500.00 and Grayville, Norris City and Enfield Senior Citizens for $900.00 each, adding Terry Abell as a committee member to the County Solar Committee, awarding or approving the lowest bidder for bridge section #18-07123-00-BR, Heralds Prairie R.D, fuel bids for the White County Highway Department, several resolutions from the County Tax Trustee, approval for accepting a loan through Banterra Bank for the Ambulances, the hiring of a new Animal Control Officer, a resolution asking Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker to veto House Bill 3653 (Criminal Justice Reform), and a letter of support for the IllinoiSouth Tourism Board.
An Executive Session will follow for the purpose of discussing personnel and/or litigation.
