36 year old Christopher D. Blazier, of Carmi, was sentenced, Monday, in White County Court, to 3 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, followed by 4 years Mandatory Supervised Release, on a class 4 felony charge of Domestic Battery. Blazier’s sentencing came at the conclusion of a contested sentencing hearing.
Blazier had previously been placed on probation in 2019. However, he was found to have violated his probation with a sentencing hearing set for Monday afternoon. Blazier was represented by Public Defender Brian Shinkle. Judge T. Scott Webb was the presiding judge that handed down the sentence at the conclusion of the sentencing hearing after presentation of evidence and arguments from counsel. White County Sheriff’s Department was the original investigating agency.
