On Thursday 12/17/2020 at 02:45PM McLeansboro PD received a report Thursday afternoon (12/17/20) of a domestic battery that had occurred at 202 E. Randolph St. near the Peoples National Bank ATM. Police Chief Nathan Taylor reports officers were able to obtain surveillance video footage of the incident. In the video, he says it showed an altercation between a male and female had occurred. Following the investigation McLeansboro PD Officers and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were able to locate and took 40 year old Michael T. Renn of McLeansboro into custody for a felony charge of Aggravated Battery along with a misdemeanor charge of Domestic Battery. Renn was transported to White County Jail. Online court records indicate Renn has a first appearance with the honorable Judge Barry Vaughn scheduled for Wednesday, January 6th. The McLeansboro Police Department reminds listeners/readers that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
