A pre-trial hearing was held yesterday (Tuesday) via Zoom in Wayne County Circuit Court for 25-year-old Brodey I. Murbarger. His attorney, Christian Baril, filed two motions before Judge Michael Molt- one for the allowance of in-person visits with Murbarger and another for the reduction of the current $300,000 cash bond. State’s Attorney Kevin Kakac argued against both requests. Judge Molt granted the request for in-person visits, with Baril and Kakac set to come together on terms for a draft order. The request for a reduction in bond was denied given the serious nature of the allegations against Murbarger. He faces three counts of first-degree murder, one count of concealment of a homicidal death, and two counts of home invasion in relation to the disappearance and death of Megan Nichols. A second pre-trial conference was scheduled for January.
