Egyptian Health Department Reports 43 New COVID-19 Cases Tuesday

Egyptian Health Department was notified, on Tuesday, of 43 Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:

• Saline County (21)
  • 5 females in their teens
  • 1 male in his teens
  • 1 male in his 20’s
  • 2 females in their 30’s
  • 1 male in his 30’s
  • 3 females in their 40’s
  • 1 male in his 40’s
  • 3 females in their 50’s
  • 1 male in his 50’s
  • 1 male in his 70’s
  • 1 female in her 80’s
  • 1 male; age demographics unknown-case status in progress.
  • Please note: a female, in her teens, has been transferred to their local health department.

• Gallatin County (2)
  • 1 male in his 70’s
  • 1 female; age demographics unknown-case status in progress.

• White County (20)
  • 1 female in her teens
  • 1 male in his 20’s
  • 2 females in their 30’s
  • 1 male in his 30’s
  • 1 male in his 40’s
  • 2 females in their 50’s
  • 2 female in their 60’s
  • 1 female in her 70’s
  • 2 males in their 70’s
  • 1 female in her 80’s
  • 1 male in his 80’s
  • 2 females in their 90’s
  • 3 females; age demographics unknown- case status in progress.

To date, Saline County has had a total of 1,160 lab confirmed positives, including 24 deaths, 495 have recovered, White County has had a total of 606 lab-confirmed positives, including 9 deaths, 261 have recovered, and Gallatin County has a total of 206 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 2 deaths, 119 have recovered. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.

As cases increase, the number of close contacts increases for individuals who need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.

If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. Please note: If you have received results for a COVID-19 Rapid Test– ???????????????? or ????????????????– you should still ?????????????? until you receive your lab-confirmed results. IDPH recommends, over the next three weeks, stay home as much as possible, leaving only for necessary and essential activities, such as work that must be performed outside the home, COVID-19 testing, visiting the pharmacy, and buying groceries.

IDPH announced that Illinois has 9,463  new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 125 additional deaths. Bringing the total to 674,089 confirmed cases and 11,677 deaths in Illinois.
