Egyptian Health Department Reports 53 New COVID Cases Wednesday

Egyptian Health Department was notified, on Wednesday, of 53 Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:

 

  • Saline County (25)
    • 1 female under the age of 5
    • 1 female in her teens
    • 2 males in their teens
    • 2 females in their 20’s
    • 3 males in their 30’s
    • 1 female in her 50’s
    • 1 male in his 50’s
    • 1 female in her 60’s
    • 3 males in their 60’s
    • 3 females in their 70’s
    • 3 males in their 70’s
    • 1 female in her 80’s
    • 2 males in their 80’s
    • 1 female; age demographics unknown-case status in progress.

 

  • Gallatin County (3)
    • 1 female in her 20’s
    • 1 female in her 60’s
    • 1 male in his 70’s

 

  • White County (25)
    • 1 female in her 20’s
    • 1 female in her 30’s
    • 5 females in their 40’s
    • 3 females in their 50’s
    • 1 male in his 50’s
    • 1 female in her 60’s
    • 2 males in their 60’s
    • 4 females in their 70’s
    • 1 male in his 70’s
    • 3 females in their 80’s
    • 1 male in his 80’s
    • 1 female in her 90’s
    • 1 female; age demographics unknown-case status in progress.

 

To date, Saline County has had a total of 1,050  lab confirmed positives, including 20 deaths, 453 have recovered, White County has had a total of 506 lab-confirmed positives, including 9 deaths, 226 have recovered, and Gallatin County has a total of 195 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 2 deaths, 104 have recovered. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.

 

As cases increase, the number of close contacts increases for individuals who need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.

If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. Please note: If you have received results for a COVID-19 Rapid Test– ???????????????? or ????????????????– you should still ?????????????? until you receive your lab-confirmed results. IDPH recommends, over the next three weeks, stay home as much as possible, leaving only for necessary and essential activities, such as work that must be performed outside the home, COVID-19 testing, visiting the pharmacy, and buying groceries.

IDPH announced that Illinois has 8,922 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 140 additional deaths. Bringing the total to 606,771 confirmed cases and 11,014 deaths in Illinois.
