Egyptian Health Department Reports 1 White County Death; 52 New COVID-19 Cases Tuesday

The Egyptian Health Department was notified of a White County resident who has passed away due to complications of Coronavirus (COVID-19). The Egyptian Health Department is saddened by this news and their thoughts are with the family.

 

Egyptian Health Department was notified on Tuesday of 52 Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:

 

  • Saline County (34)
    • a female in her teens
    • a male in his teens
    • 2 females in their 20’s
    • 2 males in their 20’s
    • a male in his 30’s
    • 2 females in their 40’s
    • 2 males in their 40’s
    • 4 females in their 50’s
    • 3 males in their 50’s
    • 3 females in their 60’s
    • 2 males in their 60’s
    • a female in her 80’s
    • 7 females; age demographics unknown- case status in progress
    • 3 males; age demographics unknown- case status in progress

 

  • Gallatin County (7)
    • a female in her 40’s
    • a female in her 50’s
    • a male in his 50’s
    • a male in his 60’s
    • a female in her 70’s
    • a female; age demographics unknown- case status in progress
    • a male; age demographics unknown- case status in progress

 

  • White County (11)
  • a female in her teens
  • a male in his 20’s
  • a male in his 40’s
  • 3 females in their 60’s
  • 3 males in their 60’s
  • 2 males in their 70’s

 

To date, Saline County has had a total of 897 lab confirmed positives, including 20 deaths, 387 have recovered, White County has had a total of 392 lab-confirmed positives, including 7 deaths, 204 have recovered, and Gallatin County has a total of 169 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 2 deaths, 90 have recovered. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.

As cases increase, the number of close contacts increases for individuals who need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.

If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. IDPH announced that Illinois has 12,623 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 79 additional deaths. Bringing the total to 511,183 confirmed cases and 10,289 deaths in Illinois.
