Egyptian Health Department Reports 3 Saline County Deaths; 30 New COVID-19 Cases Monday

Egyptian Health Department was notified of 3 Saline County residents who have passed away due to complications of Coronavirus (COVID-19). The Egyptian Health Department is saddened by this news and their thoughts are with the families.

 

Egyptian Health Department was notified on Monday of 30 Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:

 

  • Saline County (15)
    • a female under the age of 10
    • a female in her teens
    • a male in his teens
    • 2 females in their 20’s
    • a male in his 20’s
    • a female in her 30’s
    • a male in his 30’s
    • 2 females in their 40’s
    • 2 males in their 40’s
    • a female in her 60’s
    • a male in his 80’s
    • a female, demographics unknown- case status in progress

 

  • Gallatin County (6)
    • a female in her teens
    • a male in his teens
    • a female in her 30’s
    • a male in his 40’s
    • a female in her 60’s
    • a male in his 70’s

 

  • White County (9)
    • a female under the age of 5
    • a female under the age of 10
    • a male in his teens
    • a male in his 20’s
    • a female in her 30’s
    • a male in his 30’s
    • a male in his 50’s
    • a male in his 70’s
    • a female in her 80’s

 

To date, Saline County has had a total of 863 lab confirmed positives, including 20 deaths, 387 have recovered, White County has had a total of 381 lab-confirmed positives, including 6 deaths, 204 have recovered, and Gallatin County has a total of 162 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 2 deaths, 90 have recovered. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.

As cases increase, the number of close contacts increases for individuals who need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.
If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. Yesterday, IDPH announced that Illinois has 10,573 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 17 additional deaths. Bringing the total to 498,560 confirmed cases and 10,210 deaths in Illinois.
