Egyptian Health Department Reports 16 New Cases of COVID-19 Monday

Egyptian Health Department was notified on October 12, 2020, of sixteen Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:

  • Saline County
    • a male, under the age of 10, at home and in isolation
    • a female, in her 20’s, case status in progress
    • a female, in her 20’s, case status in progress
    • a female, in her 20’s, case status in progress
    • a female, in her 20’s, case status in progress
    • a male, in his 40’s, at home and in isolation
    • a female, in her 60’s, case status in progress
    • a female, in her 70’s, hospitalized
    • a male, in his 70’s, at home and in isolation
    • a male, in his 70’s, at home and in isolation
    • a female, in her 80’s, at home and in isolation
    • a male, in his 80’s, at home and in isolation
    • a female, in her 90’s, at home and in isolation
  • Gallatin County
    • a male, in his 40’s, at home and in isolation
    • a male, in his 50’s, at home and in isolation
    • a female, in her 50’s, at home and in isolation

To date, Saline County has had a total of 470 lab confirmed positives, including 6 deaths, White County has had a total of 215 lab-confirmed positives and 1 death, and Gallatin County has a total of 93lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 2 deaths. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.

*Case status in progress means that Contact Tracers are currently making contact with the COVID-19 positive case to determine where the individual is located (ie: at home or hospitalized).

As cases increase, the number of close contacts increases for individuals who need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.

If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. Please note: If you have received results for a COVID-19 Rapid Test– ???????????????????????????????? or ????????????????????????????????– you should still ???????????????????????????? until you receive your lab-confirmed results.  Help stop the spread of COVID-19 in your community.

IDPH announced that Illinois had 2,742 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 13 additional deaths. Bringing the total to 321,892 confirmed cases and 8,997 deaths in Illinois.

Watch your distance (6 ft!)

Wash your hands frequently. Wear a face covering if you have to go out. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces. Remain 6 feet apart from others.
