Egyptian Health Department Reports 8 New COVID-19 Cases Wednesday

Egyptian Health Department was notified on October 7, 2020, of eight Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include: Saline County a female, in her teens, at home and in isolation a female, in her 30’s, at home and in isolation a female, in her 30’s, case status in progress a female, in her 40’s, case status in progress a male, in his 40’s, at home and in isolation a male, in his 50’s, at home and in isolation a female, in her 60’s, at home and in isolation Gallatin County a male, in his 60’s, at home and in isolation To date, Saline County has had a total of 435 lab confirmed positives, including 6 deaths, White County has had a total of 194 lab-confirmed positives and 1 death, and Gallatin County has a total of 85 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 2 deaths. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation. *Case status in progress means that Contact Tracers are currently making contact with the COVID-19 positive case to determine where the individual is located (ie: at home or hospitalized). As cases increase, the number of close contacts increases for individuals who need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times. IDPH announced that Illinois had 2,630 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 42 additional deaths. Bringing the total to 307,641 confirmed cases and 8,878 deaths in Illinois.
