A 67 year old Carmi woman, Diane Strong, is behind bars in the White County Jail, following a traffic stop by the White County Sheriff’s Office Monday afternoon. Deputy George Spencer conducted a stop on a white 2007 Lincoln Town Car on County Road 700 East. A Driver’s License check confirmed Strong had an active warrant and her Driver’s License was revoked. During an inventory search of the vehicle prior to it being towed, Officers discovered a black and tan purse under the driver’s seat. Inside the purse was a small black pouch containing a clear glass smoking pipe and a green glass smoking pipe, both with a white crystalline residue inside them, believed to be methamphetamine. A small silver container with a screw top lid inside the black pouch was discovered, containing two small clear plastic baggies which tested positive for meth and an orange prescription bottle with a child proof lid containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana. Strong was transported to the White County Jail where she remains held on $1500 bond on the Warrant Arrest, Possession of Methamphetamine, Driving While License Revoked, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Use of Property.
