Egyptian Health Reports Eight New Cases of COVID-19 in Saline County

Egyptian Health Department was notified on September 28, 2020, of eight Saline County residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include: Saline County a female, in her 20’s, at home and in isolation a female, in her 30’s, case status in progress a male, in his 30’s, at home and in isolation a male, in his 30’s, at home and in isolation a female, in her 40’s, at home and in isolation a male, in his 40’s, at home and in isolation a female, in her 60’s, at home and in isolation a female, in her 70’s, hospitalized To date, Saline County has had a total of 353 lab confirmed positives, including 4 deaths, White County has had a total of 171 lab-confirmed positives and 1 death, and Gallatin County has a total of 77 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 2 deaths. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation. *Case status in progress means that Contact Tracers are currently making contact with the COVID-19 positive case to determine where the individual is located (ie: at home or hospitalized). As cases increase, the number of close contacts increases for individuals who need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.
