Egyptian Health Department was notified on September 25, 2020, of 24 Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:

- a female, in her 20’s, at home and in isolation

- a female, in her 20’s, case status in progress
- a male, in his 20’s, at home and in isolation
- a female, in her 30’s, at home and in isolation
- a female, in her, 30’s, at home and in isolation
- a female, in her 40’s, at home and in isolation
- a male, in his 40’s, at home and in isolation
- a male, in his 40’s, at home and in isolation
- a male, in his 40’s, case status in progress
- a female, in her 50’s, at home and in isolation
- a female, in her 50’s, case status in progress
- a female, in her 60’s, at home and in isolation
- a female, in her 60’s, case status in progress
- a male, in 60’s, at home and in isolation
- a female, in her 70’s, at home and in isolation
- a female, in her 70’s, at home and in isolation

*Case status in progress means that Contact Tracers are currently making contact with the COVID-19 positive case to determine where the individual is located (ie: at home or hospitalized).
To date, Saline County has had a total of 335 lab confirmed positives, including 4 deaths, White County has had a total of 169 lab-confirmed positives and 1 death, and Gallatin County has a total of 75 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 2 deaths. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.
As cases increase, the number of close contacts increases for individuals who need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.
If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. Please note: If you have received results for a COVID-19 Rapid Test– ???????????????????????????????? or ????????????????????????????????– you should still ???????????????????????????? until you receive your lab-confirmed results. IDPH announced that Illinois had 2,514 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 25 additional deaths. Bringing the total to 283,885 confirmed cases and 8,563 deaths in Illinois.
