Egyptian Health Department was notified over the weekend of eleven Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:
- Saline County
- a male, in his teens, case status in progress
- a female, in her 30’s, case status in progress
- 2 females, in their 50’s, at home and in isolation
- a male, in his 50’s, case status in progress
- 2 males, in their 60’s, at home and in isolation
- White County
- 2 females, in their 60’s, at home and in isolation
- a male, in his 40’s, case status in progress
- a male, in his 60’s, at home and in isolation
To date, Saline County has had a total of 213 lab confirmed positives, including 3 deaths, 158 have recovered, White County has had a total of 151 lab-confirmed positives, 114 have recovered, and Gallatin County has a total of 69 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 2 deaths, 58 have recovered. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.
As cases increase, the number of close contacts increases for individuals who need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.
If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. Please note: If you have received results for a COVID-19 Rapid Test– ???????????????????????????????? or ????????????????????????????????– you should still ???????????????????????????? until you receive your lab-confirmed results. Yesterday, IDPH announced that Illinois had 2,121 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 22 additional deaths. Bringing the total to 259,909 confirmed cases and 8,295 deaths in Illinois.
