Four New White County CoViD Positives Wednesday Among 5 New Tri County Cases Reported by EHD

Egyptian Health Department was notified on September 2, 2020, of five Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:

  • Saline County
    • a female, under the age of 12, at home and in isolation
  • White County
    • a female, under the age of 5, at home and in isolation
    • a female, in her 40’s, at home and in isolation
    • a female, in her 50’s, at home and in isolation
    • a male, in his 50’s, case status in progress

To date, Saline County has had a total of 172 lab confirmed positives, including 3 deaths, White County has had a total of 132 lab-confirmed positives, and Gallatin County has a total of 65 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 2 deaths. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.

As cases increase, the number of close contacts increases for individuals who need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. Please maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.

If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. Please note: If you have received results for a COVID-19 Rapid Test– ???????????????????????????????? or ????????????????????????????????– you should still ???????????????????????????? until you receive your lab-confirmed results.  Help stop the spread of COVID-19 in your community.

IDPH announced that Illinois had 2,128 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 27 additional deaths. Bringing the total to 238,643 confirmed cases and 8,091 deaths in Illinois.
