Nine New Cases of COVID-19 Reported in the Tri-County Area Monday

Egyptian Health Department was notified on August 31, 2020, of nine Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:

  • Saline County
    • a female, in her 20’s, at home and in isolation
    • a female, in her 30’s, at home and in isolation
    • a female, in her 40’s, at home and in isolation
    • a female, in her 50’s, at home and in isolation
  • Gallatin County
    • a female, in her 30’s, at home and in isolation
  • White County
    • a male, in his 20’s, case status in progress
    • a female, in her 50’s, case status in progress
    • a female, in her 50’s, case status in progress
    • a male, in his 60’s, at home and in isolation

To date, Saline County has had a total of 169 lab confirmed positives, including 3 deaths, 135 have recovered, White County has had a total of 127 lab-confirmed positives, 97 have recovered,  and Gallatin County has a total of 64 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 2 deaths, 55 have recovered. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.

As cases increase, the number of close contacts increases for individuals who need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. Please maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.

If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. Please note: If you have received results for a COVID-19 Rapid Test– ???????????????? or ????????????????– you should still ?????????????? until you receive your lab-confirmed results.  Help stop the spread of COVID-19 in your community.

IDPH announced that Illinois had 1,668 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 7 additional deaths. Bringing the total to 235,023 confirmed cases and 8,026 deaths in Illinois.

Wash your hands frequently. Wear a face covering if you have to go out. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces. Remain 6 feet apart from others.
