Nathan A. Johnson Arrested Thursday Night Following Stabbing

White County Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call about 9:23 PM Thursday that a man had been stabbed in his leg by another man at 607 Summit Street in Carmi. The arresting officer, White County Sheriff’s Deputy Jordan Weiss, and Sgt. Buttry and Officer Donnie Huber of the Carmi Police Department, responded to the area. White County Dispatch advised all units before they arrived on the scene, that the subject was 29 year old Nathan A. Johnson of Carmi and he was wearing a black t-shirt and shorts.

Sgt. Buttry found Johnson standing on the west side of the road by his girlfriend and placed him in handcuffs. While Johnson was sitting on the ground, he voluntarily stated that he was being beaten up by two males and that he pulled a knife and stabbed one of them in the leg in self-defense. After speaking with all parties involved, Deputy Weiss determined that Johnson was under arrest for two counts of aggravated battery and located a black folding knife in the right boot of Johnson during a pat down.

There are no other details at this time.
