The Mt. Carmel Police Department has received phone calls concerning the enforcement of wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in public. The Mt. Carmel Police Department is NOT on “patrol” looking for violations. The Mt. Carmel Police Department would like to remind individuals that local businesses can refuse service if you are not following the PPE guidelines. If police respond to an establishment due to a disorderly customer or a person refusing to leave the premises, the person is subject to arrest.
The Mt. Carmel Police would just like for individuals to use common sense during these times, and please be mindful of the rules while visiting our local stores. They would also like to remind you to be kind to those who are serving you.
