A bipartisan group of southern Illinois state lawmakers have formed a nonprofit organization to give out grants to businesses there that are struggling amid the pandemic. Southern Illinois Strong is selling T-shirts in partnership with the Southern Illinois Community Foundation and will give the proceeds to businesses there.
From the http://www.southernillinoisstrong.com website:
The Southern Illinois Strong t-shirt campaign is a fundraiser benefiting small businesses in Southern Illinois through grants. The campaign is presented and organized by State Representatives Terri Bryant, Nathan Reitz, Dave Severin, Patrick Windhorst, and State Senators Dale Fowler and Paul Schimpf in conjunction with the Southern Illinois Community Foundation.
Whether it’s a delicious meal at your favorite diner, beautiful flowers from your local florist, or a nice trim at your nearby hairdresser – small businesses provide so much and are the lifeblood of our rural small towns. They are struggling through this unprecedented crisis. Let’s come together to support them to make sure they survive. Buy a t-shirt or make a donation (or both) to support the cause!
