Carmi City Council Met Very Briefly Tuesday Evening

A brief agenda resulted in a speedy Carmi City Council meeting Tuesday evening lasting all of 5 minutes complete with the pledge and prayer.  The only real news that came out of the gathering was the council’s agreement on a payment request for White Technologies.  Holly Healy, on behalf of City Administration released a one sheet explaining that the city must go through the payment approval process per the grant requirement for the vacuum dewatering beds filter media replacement at the Sewer Plant.  The Council’s action approves the payment in the amount of $74,500, or 25% of the total cost.  Healy continues, “Once the payment is approved by the Council, Greater Wabash Regional Planning Commission will request our share of the grant funds from Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity as part of the CDAP Grant that was awarded from the RLF funds.  Once the City receives the money, the City will pay White Technologies.”
Mayor Jeff Pollard talked briefly about the March 28th cleaning event and says additional details will be available shortly.  Alderman Doug Hays mentioned he wouldn’t be at the March 17th Council meeting and there was no closed session.  The council adjourned at 5:35pm and will reconvene at 5:30pm on March 17th for their second and last meeting of March.
