MCPD arrest report 6/13-6/14

The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department.  All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

06/14/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 56 year old Geraldine M. Ansorage of Cape Girardeau, Missouri after police were called to Buehler’s Buy Low in reference to an intoxicated female.  Police spoke with Ansorage and detected an alcoholic beverage smell coming from her person.  Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Ansorage for suspected DUI.  It was also discovered that she had a failure to appear warrant out of Taney County, Missouri and a deceptive practice warrant out of Wabash County.  Narcotics were also found in the vehicle.  Ansorage was transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance and illegal transportation of alcohol.  Ansorage is currently being held without bond.

Mt. Carmel Police arrested 34 year old John C. Holt of Booneville, Indiana after he was stopped for a traffic violation.  During the traffic stop it was discovered that he was wanted on a Vanderburgh County warrant for assault.  Holt was transported to the Wabash County Jail and issued a citation for failure to wear a seat belt and failure to yield at an intersection.  Holt was held pending the posting of bond.

06/13/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 37 year old Christopher R. Shelby and 28 year old Logan Stoneberger both of Mt. Carmel after police executed an arrest warrant on Shelby.  Officer’s received information that Shelby was staying at the Shamrock Motel in Mt. Carmel.  Police went to the Motel and were able to take Shelby into custody on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant.  Stoneberger was arrested and charged with concealing or aiding a fugitive.  Both subjects were transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond.  The Wabash County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest.

Mt. Carmel Police were called to the area of 5th and Division Street reference a disturbance.  When police arrived on scene they spoke with a 23 year old Odaisha M. Short of Metropolis, Illinois.   During the course of the investigation it was discovered that Short was wanted on two warrants out of Wabash County.  Short was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was served a failure to appear warrant and a probation violation warrant.  Short was held pending the posting of $800.00 bond.  A second person was arrested when it was discovered he was wanted on two warrants out of Massac County.  That person was identified as Travis C. Blanton, age 25, of Metropolis.  Blanton was also charged with obstructing identification.  That charge was a result of Blanton giving MCPD officers a fictitious name.  Blanton was held pending the posting of bond.
