Wednesday is the first day of legal cannabis sales to anyone over 21 in Illinois. The state’s approved dispensaries can open as early as 6 a.m. With long lines expected, there’s no guarantee recreational users will get what they’re looking for. The law requires dispensaries to have enough supply on hand for those with medical cannabis ID.
Marijuana will continue to be illegal in Indiana. That’s the word from marijuana sellers in Illinois. Chicago-based Green Thumb Industries said this week it has gotten lots of interest from people in Indiana who want to buy their products. Green Thumb says it is reminding all of its customers about the laws where they live. The Indiana State Police are also reminding people that buying pot in Illinois may be legal, but bringing it back into Indiana is not.
