2020 Illinois Conservation Cropping Seminars Scheduled

Springfield, IL–Illinois’ annual Conservation Cropping Seminars will be held January 21, 22 and 23 in three locations statewide. Each one-day seminar will feature guest speakers focused on sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices.

Speakers and special guests include: Hans Kok, Indiana Soil Health Consultant; Bryan Young, Purdue University Weed and Chemistry professor; and Rick and Aaron Clark, Illinois farmers using cutting edge conservation methods.

“This is the 7th year for the Conservation Cropping Seminars which bring together tried and tested farm authorities and research driven industry professionals to discuss the successes and failures of transforming to a more sustainable operation,” said IDOA Director John Sullivan.

Registration is open online at www.ccswcd.com or by calling the Champaign County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) at (217) 352-3536. Each one-day seminar is $20 including lunch. Seminars are held from 8am-4pm daily.

“I believe more farmers are ready to take steps to make small improvements on their farm that make sense environmentally and economically,” said USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service State Conservationist Ivan Dozier. “These seminars are the perfect place to begin having those conversations and start making those changes.”
