Susan Maxine Cowling, 67, of Grayville, Illinois, died Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Meadowbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation in Grayville, Illinois. She was born April 29, 1957, in Carmi, Illinois, the daughter of Leonard V. and Agnes (McKay) Hawkins.
Susan worked for many years as a waitress in and around Grayville. She was a homemaker and loved being with her grandchildren.
Survivors include son Bruce Cowling, Jr. of Grayville; daughter Amy Catt of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; brother Michael Hawkins of Albion, Illinois; grandchildren Cohen Cowling, James Catt, and William Catt.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son Darrin Cowling; brothers Charles, Victor, and Jack Hawkins; sisters Betty Ann Hawkins, Rebecca Joyce Gulley, and Rose Marie Hughes.
Visitation and funeral are Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville, Illinois. Visitation is at 1 pm followed by funeral at 2 pm. Burial is in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville.
