Patricia Ann (Cox) Roosevelt, 78, of Carmi, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Premier Healthcare Of New Harmony, in New Harmony, Indiana. She was born on June 14, 1946, in Eldorado, Illinois, the daughter of Elwood and June (Markum) Cox. Pat retired from the University of Illinois after 35 years where she worked as an Executive Secretary. She was a firm believer in her faith and attended church when she was able. Pat taught a Bible study at Evergreen Acres where she resided. She was an avid reader, loved to sing, bake, and drink coffee. Pat was always hospitable, she enjoyed sending cards to friends and family. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandson.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Sandy Slater of Carmi, IL; her grandson, Kenneth William Slater; and siblings, Dorothy Hoffner; Dale (Doris) Cox; and Curtis (Joyce) Cox. She is preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service for Pat Roosevelt will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with inurnment at Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville, Illinois. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Voice of the Martyrs, and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi or may be mailed to 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL. 62821.
