Billie Joe “Bill” DeWitt, 76, of Carmi, IL passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 2, 2025. Bill was born on April 19, 1948, in Springerton, IL, and was the son of J.C. and Lucille DeWitt.

   Barbara Ann Sherrard, 80, of Carmi, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Wabash Senior Living in Carmi. She was born on April 5, 1944, in Mesa, Arizona, the daughter of Alvin F. and Roberta N. (Arrowsmith) Sherman. Barbara married Donald E. Sherrard on March 28, 1968, in Chandler, Arizona. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2017. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Barbara worked as a crossing guard in Mesa, Arizona. She loved sewing and quilting and doing genealogy.

Richard, “Dick” Helfrich was born on July 5th, 1938, to Paul Z. and Marian L. (Fedde) Helfrich of Peotone, Illinois. They spent Dick’s early childhood in Chicago Heights, then moved to Peotone, where his father became the 4th generation to run the Fedde family funeral home and furniture store.

Connie Sue Loyd, 73 of Carmi, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at her home. She was born on Wednesday, January 16, 1952, in Carmi, the daughter of Paul and Genevieve (Baker) Kingery.

Alice May (Meyer) Gunter, 89, of McLeansboro, IL passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.  Alice was born on February 23, 1936 in Parsippany, NJ to Henry & Elizabeth (Swartz) Meyer.

Carolyn Sue (Ward) Funkhouser, 80 of Grayville, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Heart to Heart Hospice in Evansville, IN. She was born on Saturday, October 28, 1944, in Norris City the daughter, of Herman and Violet (Blue) Ward.

Beverley Lou Pyle, age 80, of Cisne, Illinois, passed away peacefully Monday, February 24, 2025, at her home. She was born December 11, 1944, in Fairfield.

Carmen Elaine (Newton) Webb, 74, of Opdyke, IL passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at StoneBridge Memory Care in Mt. Vernon, IL.  Carmen was born November 1, 1950 in Mt. Vernon, IL to Max & Alberta “June” (Braddy) Newton.

Daniel Lee Kuykendall, 64, of Grayville, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at his home. Danny was born on Friday, February 24, 1961, in Carmi, the son of Ronald Charles and Marilyn Joyce (Campbell) Kuykendall.

Kay Johnson, 84, of Norris City, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. She was born on May 23, 1940. in McLeansboro, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Sarah (Webb) Ingram.
