Ronald Joe Culp, 65, of Carmi, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at his residence. He was born on August 18, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Walter and Margaret E. (Phelps) Culp. He loved Jesus with all his heart and often shared his testimony of being delivered from alcoholism. Ron volunteered at Cherry Street Food Pantry for many years and loved singing Victory in Jesus. Ron was a valued member of the community at Evergreen Acres in Carmi and will be missed by his friends and neighbors.

Muriel "Janie" Kimbrell, 89, of Carmi, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024. She was born on April 23, 1934, in Geddes, South Dakota, the daughter of Isadore Samuel and Rose Frances (Kubal) Swanz. Janie married James Robert Kimbrell on May 12, 1979, and he preceded her in death on April 10, 2009. .Janie proudly served her country in the United States Army. She worked as a bookkeeper for O'Daniel Trucking as well as for Paul Hoskins.

Brenda Lee Prior, 63, of Carmi, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024. She was born on April 2, 1960 in Carmi, Illinois, the daughter of Herbert Lee and Shirley Ann (McClain) Bostic. Brenda was the granddaughter of the late John and Grace Bostic. She married her high school sweetheart Larry Allan Prior on June 12, 1976. They were married for 28 years until Larry's passing in 2005. Brenda worked as CNA many years and before retiring, she did in home senior care in her community.She enjoyed fishing, taking care of her lawn, making jewelry, crafting (which she had an amazing talent for), holidays with her family, vacations with Larry and showing their Mopar at car shows. Brenda enjoyed spoiling her dogs, Kira and Sophie, as well as her cat Skippy. She taught her family to face challenges head-on and how to never give in.
