    Dorothy Ann Pollard, 87, of Carmi, Illinois, sadly passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, in Dunedin, Florida. She was born in Thackeray, Illinois, on July 20, 1937, the daughter of Andrew and Violet (Campbell) McMahan. Dorothy married Donald G. Pollard on November 4, 1953. She spent several years as a press operator at the Sewing Factory in Enfield, and later as a homemaker. Dorothy was a feisty, stubborn and funny woman who was so loved by her family and was truly one of a kind. She attended First Baptist Church in Carmi. Dorothy was an avid bingo player and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren which she adored.

     Robert A. Parker, 78, of Carmi, formerly of McLeansboro passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Carmi Manor. He was born in Eldorado, Illinois, on July 18, 1946, the son of Thomas Abraham and Ellen Elizabeth (Harrelson) Parker. Robert faithfully served his country in the United State Marine Corp during the Vietnam War, starting at Camp Pendleton before going to Okinawa, Japan and later Danang, Vietnam. After returning from the service, Robert worked as an over the road truck driver and more recently locally for area farmers.

     Norma L. Batteese, 87, of Norris City passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025. She was born in Maunie, IL on February 11, 1938 the daughter of Emeart Elvis and Donna Mae (Frymire) James.  Norma married James L. Batteese on May 27, 1954 and he preceded her in death on January 15, 1995.  She had worked in various factories over the years including the sewing factory in Carmi and popcorn factory in Ridgway.  Norma loved to crochet, read and work crossword puzzles, the harder the better.

Eugenia Lynn Alldredge, 65 of Grayville, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. She was born on Sunday, August 16, 1959, in Carmi, a daughter of Walter Eugene and Barbara Mildred (Coe) Earl.

Deborah Lucy Rankin, 70, of Grayville Illinois passed away peacefully into the arms of her savior March 31st, 2025, at 2:15 am with her husband and daughter by her side. She was born August 18, 1954, to Ruby Abston and Floyd Abston in Charleston, Illinois.

Irene (Essary) Phelps, 88, of Olney, IL passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Helia Healthcare of Olney in Olney, IL.  She was born on March 1, 1937 in Dale, IL to Ralph & “Doll” Essary.  On February 15, 1956 she married William “Bill” Cletus Phelps, who survives.

Christina Dohn Buckner, 48, of Carmi, IL passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Southern Residential Alternatives, Inc. Carmi House.  Christina was born on August 25, 1976 in McLeansboro, IL to Charles & Betty Buckner.

Carey “Fuzz” Rose, 62, of Springerton, IL passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025 at his home. He was a true believer in our Lord & Savior. He was the son of the late Curtis Rose & Brenda Waggoner Rose. He worked as a master logger and a farmer.

Robert Joseph "Jitter" McLain, 81, of Carmi, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025. He was born on September 8, 1943, in Carmi, the son of Rapheal "Ray" McLain, Jr. and Leona Marie Stovall.
