Charles Joseph “Charlie” Pfister, 83, of Naples, Florida, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg, Illinois. He was born on February 05,1941, in Carmi, Illinois, the son of Glen Benjamin and Emma Louise (Smith) Pfister. Charlie married Margaret Agnes “Margie” Goebel on August 17, 1963, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ridgway, IL, and she survives. Charlie was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Naples, Florida and previously a member at St. Polycarp Catholic Church in Carmi. Charlie served as president on the White County Farm Bureau and served as director on the Wabash Valley Service Company board as well. Charlie was very active in his church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

On June 22, 1963, she married Clyde Ernest Lingle in Maywood, Illinois, and together they shared over 45 years of marriage before his passing on January 4, 2009.

She was born on May 7, 1945, in Conway County, Arkansas, the daughter of Edgar and Clara (Fulmer) Blackwell. Carol worked in medical records as a manager for AETNA Insurance Company for many years. She enjoyed reading, crafting and sewing. Carol was an excellent cook. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Carol was loved by family and friends, always helping those in need and kept Christmas magical throughout the years.

Johnnie Alan Sexton, 68, of Carmi, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024. He was born on November 8, 1955, in DeKalb, Illinois, the son of John Leland and Dollie Imogene (Heck) Sexton. Alan married Charlene Annette Bell on February 16, 1973, and she survives. He worked in maintenance at Alloyd. Alan was a member of the Sycamore Sportsman Club. He enjoyed fishing, trap shooting and most of all, spending time with his family.

Leon Hale, 92, of Carmi, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 25, 1932, in Heralds Prairie Township, Illinois, the son of William Henry and Mary Bernice Hale. Leon married Wanda Laura Mills on February 5, 1950, and she preceded him in death. He later married Margaret Lucille Smith on December, 20, 1997, and she also preceded him in death. He was a retired farmer, timber contractor, Herald Prairie Township Road Commissioner, and foreman for the White County Highway Department and later was the acting superintendent for a year. Leon was a member of Stewart Street Baptist Church in Carmi. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Leon was very active in his church life and was a witness for the Lord.
