Johnnie Alan Sexton, 68, of Carmi, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024. He was born on November 8, 1955, in DeKalb, Illinois, the son of John Leland and Dollie Imogene (Heck) Sexton. Alan married Charlene Annette Bell on February 16, 1973, and she survives. He worked in maintenance at Alloyd. Alan was a member of the Sycamore Sportsman Club. He enjoyed fishing, trap shooting and most of all, spending time with his family.
Leon HaleCarmi, IL
Leon Hale, 92, of Carmi, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 25, 1932, in Heralds Prairie Township, Illinois, the son of William Henry and Mary Bernice Hale. Leon married Wanda Laura Mills on February 5, 1950, and she preceded him in death. He later married Margaret Lucille Smith on December, 20, 1997, and she also preceded him in death. He was a retired farmer, timber contractor, Herald Prairie Township Road Commissioner, and foreman for the White County Highway Department and later was the acting superintendent for a year. Leon was a member of Stewart Street Baptist Church in Carmi. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Leon was very active in his church life and was a witness for the Lord.

Cindy Huff, a loved Ninny, Mom, Sister, and friend went to be with the Lord on July 12, 2024. Cindy was married to the love of her life Artie Huff for 33 years before he passed away in 2018.

Stormy May Baker, 26, of Norris City, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024. She was born on May 23, 1998, in Fairfield, Illinois, the daughter of Bryan Baker and Christine Marie Zaiko. Stormy worked as a forklift operator at Champion Labs in Albion, Illinois. She was an artist. Stormy enjoyed watching movies and taking care of her nieces and nephews. She was a loving and kind big sister. Stormy wasn't one to hold a grudge. She lit up the room when she walked in. Stormy never met a stranger and was a friend to many. She will be greatly missed.

Jacqueline Michelle Armstrong, 64 of Carmi, entered the arms of Jesus on Friday, July 12, 2024, surrounded by her family. Jackie was born on July 26, 1959, in Lancaster, CA, the daughter of Harold Azale “Stinger” and Ethel Delores “Tooter” (Baugher) Armstrong. She was a 1976 Graduate of Ridgway High School. Jackie was full of love for Jesus and her family, she was passionate about reading and studying God’s word and was faithful to share Jesus’ love for others.

Keith McArthy, 89, of Enfield, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Wabash Senior Living in Carmi. He was born on October 7, 1934 in Enfield the son of Arnot and Pearl (Draper) McArthy. Keith was a 1952 graduate of Norris City High School. He went on to faithfully serve his country in the U.S. Army. Keith married Anna May Stein on June 7, 1959. He was a lifetime farmer and a longtime member of Wesley Chapel Church in Enfield

Roy F. McCord, 81, of Carmi passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024. He was born May 16, 1943 in Makanda, IL the son of Frank and Helen (Moore) McCord. Roy faithfully served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War for which he was awarded a Silver Star and Purple Heart. Roy has worked as a truck driver for Scott Lad and later Brown's Feed. He loved to hunt and was a member of the Swift Boat Sailor Association.
