Michie Sablan, age 89, passed away at 11:22 p.m., Saturday, September 30, 2023 at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital, Mt. Vernon, IL. She was born May 28, 1934 in Ishinomaki, Japan, the youngest of 9 children. She obtained a high school diploma in Guam and was a member of Yigo General Baptist Church. She moved to Hawaii and after retiring from her sales clerk job, she relocated to McLeansboro, IL.
Survivors include her daughter Susanna Mills and husband Robert of McLeansboro; granddaughter, Glenda Mills, McLeansboro, IL; 1 great grandson, Gabriel Lakin, McLeansboro, IL and 1 great granddaughter Ava Lakin, McLeansboro, IL.
She also has several nieces and nephews in Japan.
Preceding Michie in death were her parents, 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
MEMORIALS may be made to North Shore Animal League or the Humane Society and can be accepted at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, IL or to her family. At the present time there are no services scheduled and Michie’s wishes were to be cremated.
