Margie L. Moore, 90, of Carmi, Illinois, died Thursday, November 9, 2023, at her home. She was born June 20, 1933, in Edina, Missouri, the daughter of Richard J. Queen and Helen L. (Cheatum) Queen. She was married to Robert L. Moore, and he preceded her in death on July 11, 1963.
Margie was a retired from Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi where she worked as a laundress. She enjoyed travelling, going to the casinos, shopping (“snooping” as she called it), playing cards, fishing, boating, going for car rides, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include son Darel Moore of Carmi; daughter Donna Matz of Daytona Beach, Florida; grandchildren Joseph Matz and Hallie Moore; and her grandson’s cat, Jae.
Visitation and funeral are Monday, November 13, 2023, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi, Illinois. Visitation is at 10 am, and funeral is at 12 noon. Burial is in Centerville Cemetery north of Carmi, Illinois.
