Karen Sue Tolley, 61, of Carmi, IL, formerly of McLeansboro, IL, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024 at her home in Carmi Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Carmi. She was born August 1, 1963 in Elgin, IL to Ray Edward and Elsie Faye (Terrell) Tolley.
She attended college and worked many different jobs throughout her life. She also volunteered at Trade Industries. She loved doing arts & crafts, making dream catchers was her specialty. She attended Comprehensive Services Group where she made many special friends. Karen was a kind, loving soul who touched the lives of everyone who had the opportunity to get to know her. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved daughter, Tracy. Karen actively followed and supported Tracy during her entire sports career, never missing a single game, and she was always her biggest fan. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her precious grandbabies.
Karen is survived by her daughter Tracy Tolley of McLeansboro, her 5 grandkids: Jace Tolley, Mykah Doogan, Shyann Doogan, Keegan Doogan, and Logan Doogan; and the Carmi Manor Nursing Staff who provided excellent care for her over the years. She is also survived by her two childhood best friends who were like sisters to her: Marlow Herron and family, of Lake in the Hills, IL, and Nancy Skinner and family, of Tracy City, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ray & Elsie Tolley.
No formal services will be held at this time. A memorial service and burial of ashes will take place next to her parents at Digby Hill Cemetery in Dale, IL at a later date.
