Juanita Ann Broster, 93, of Grayville, Illinois, died Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Hollybrook Supportive Living in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. She was born September 6, 1930, in Amarillo, Texas, the daughter of William E. and Blanch Cecilia (Taylor) Whisenand. She was married to Sam Broster on August 2, 1956, and he preceded her in death on December 14, 2009.

Juanita was a registered nurse and a graduate of the Deaconess School of Nursing in Evansville, Indiana. She worked at Wabash General Hospital in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, until her marriage. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Grayville. She was previously a member of Fortney United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school. Other duties included being a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader and a member of the Quilter’s Club and Evening Women’s Club.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jay Walden of Grayville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Scott F. Broster; and brother Norman Whisenand.

Graveside funeral service is 2 pm, Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville, Illinois. There is no prior visitation.
