1955-2024
Johnnie Alan Sexton, 68, of Carmi, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024. He was born on November 8, 1955, in DeKalb, Illinois, the son of John Leland and Dollie Imogene (Heck) Sexton. Alan married Charlene Annette Bell on February 16, 1973, and she survives. He worked in maintenance at Alloyd. Alan was a member of the Sycamore Sportsman Club. He enjoyed fishing, trap shooting and most of all, spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Charlene Sexton, Alan is survived by his children, Chasity Sexton, Crystal Sexton and Heather Sexton; his mother, Dollie Sexton; grandchildren, Destiny (Robbie) Forester, Jacob Howe, Markies Gee, Lashelle Gee, Deontae Williams, Tayler Sexton and Jolynne Rice; two great-grandchildren, Xavior and Liam; siblings, Keith Sexton andThomas Edward (Denise) Sexton; three nephews; and a bonus son, Charlie Howe. He is preceded in death by his father, John Sexton.
Private services for Alan Sexton will be held at a later date. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
