Jennie M. LamontNewburgh, IN (formerly of Carmi)

Jennie M. Lamont, 91, of Newburgh, IN and formerly of Carmi passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024.  She was born in Carmi on May 18, 1933 the daughter of Hubert and Clara (Ude) Whitsitt.  Jennie married Percy Lamont on April 10, 1954 and he preceded her in death on October 20, 2008. She was a member of Emmanuel Church in Carmi. She enjoyed bowling, reading and playing bridge.

Jennie is survived by her three children, Dinah (John) Washum of North Palm Beach, FL, Lisa Lamont of Newburgh, IN and Stacy (Dorothy) Lamont of Christmas, FL; eight grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and a sister, Frances Whetstone of Carmi.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and seven siblings,  Junior, Chester, Lester, John, William, Elizabeth and Kenny Whitsitt.

Graveside Funeral Services and Burial for Jennie M. Lamont, 91, of Carmi will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024 in White County Memorial Garden in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jennie's memory to Emmanuel Church, 203 Edgewood Lane, Carmi, IL 62821 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is assisting the family with arrangements.
