Glenn Curtis Hardesty
1946 - 2024

Glenn Curtis Hardesty, age 78, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024. He was born July 1, 1946, to Lowell and Neva (Spence) Hardesty in New Harmony, IN and grew up in Carmi, IL.

Glenn attended the University of Evansville with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He became a member of the AICPA in July 1974. He was a CPA for Arthur Anderson in St. Louis and Kemper CPA in Lawrenceville, IL. He was also a Financial Consultant for Hillard Lyons and LPL in Olney, IL from where he retired in December 2023.

Glenn married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Beck, on August 29, 1965. From this union, they had three children: Lisa, Scott, and Tami. Glenn loved spending time with his family, eating homemade ice cream, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time outdoors in “Gods Creation”. He enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel music, especially the bass singers. Glenn was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Lawrenceville, IL Jaycees, Rotary Club, and a long-time member of the Zion Country Church, where he served as a Board Chair and Lay Leader.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy; his children, Lisa Hussey and her husband Rick of Jackson, TN, Scott Hardesty and his wife Laura of Willisville, IL and Tami Hardesty of Cahokia, IL; grandchildren, Jordan Hussey, Olivia Hussey, Micah Hussey, Bella Smith, Brook Rubach, Andy Turner; one brother, Gene Hardesty of Belleville, IL; also survives in addition to nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral will be Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 10:00am CDT at the Zion Country Church south of Lawrenceville, IL. Visitation is Friday, July 5, 2024 from 4:00 until 6:00pm CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. The burial will be at the Plainview Church Cemetery in Norris City, IL at 1:30pm CDT.

Memorial donations may be given to the Gift of Life Transplant House at 765 2nd Street SW Rochester, MN 55902.
