Ghislaine “Ly” Maria Mathiew, 86, of Norris City, Illinois, died Monday, July 22, 2024, at Wabash Senior Living and Rehabilitation in Carmi, Illinois. She was born March 2, 1938, in Toule, France the daughter of Emil and Gilberte (Marchal) Mathiew.
She was a master gardener.
Survivors include daughters Claudie (John) Parson of Crossville, Illinois, Pascalle (Brian) Bippert of LaVernia, Texas, Viviane (Pat) Bain of Norris City, Illinois, Erika (Carey) Kirby of Jacksonville, Alabama; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and one brother.
Ly’s wish was to be cremated with no services.
Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi, Illinois, is assisting the family.
