Faye F. Driggers
1931 - 2025

 Faye F. Driggers, 93, of Carmi passed away on January 18, 2025, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, IL. She was born on November 27, 1931, in Dogtown, the daughter of Mark and Ruby (Burris) Frashier. Faye attended a one room school in Dogtown through the 8th grade till her parents moved to Carmi for her to attend and graduate from Carmi Township High School in 1949. On February 10, 1950, she married Elmer F. Driggers and he preceded her in death on December 23, 2003. Faye began married life as a farm wife but later went back to school and attended SIC and then Indiana State University-Evansville, graduating with a degree in Sociology and Psychology. Faye worked as a receptionist for Dr. Veatch before becoming the secretary and bookkeeper at the White County Nursing Home. After the retirement of Woody Proctor, Faye became the administrator of the nursing home till its closure in 1981. Faye was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carmi where she had participated in the choir. She was also a life member of the Carmi VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed playing pinochle.

     Faye is survived by her daughter, Jenepher (Ray Kingery) Driggers of Norris City; along with several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a daughter, Karen Driggers-Sanders.

     Funeral services for Faye Driggers will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, with burial at White County Memorial Garden in Carmi. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Faye's memory to the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home. Donations may also be mailed to 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL. 62821.
