Donnetta J. Miller, 73, of Evansville, Indiana, died Sunday, March 3, 2024, at her home. She was born August 15, 1950, in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of Donald C. Cox and Charlotte Caroline (Fieber) Cox. With her mother and sister, Phyllis, they lived on the farm with her grandparents, Philip and Susan Fieber. She was married to Dennis Miller and he survives.

Donnetta was a registered nurse and began her nursing career working in intensive care, then emergency room, and finally finding her niche at a psychiatric nurse. She trained CNAs, worked in pediatrics, as well as developing her own private clients.

She was an accomplished singer and sang with sister Phyllis and grandfather Philip, all under the direction of Charlotte, who accompanied them on piano and organ. She was a member of the Crossville United Methodist Church in Crossville, Illinois.

Donnetta had an indomitable spirit which was rivaled only by her joyful, good-natured love of fun. She loved riding in her 1965 Mustang and being sweet, sassy, and free.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Miller of Evansville; sons Geoffrey (April) Gwyn of Cambria, Illinois, Robert (Andrea) Reynolds of Louisville, Kentucky, Michael (Star) Miller; daughter Darlene (Chris) Hagerman; sister Phyllis (Glen) Charlton of Palatine, Illinois;

Grandchildren Dakota, Kadence, Nikia, Hunter, Alex, Carrie, Christian, and Levi; three great-grandchildren; niece Erin (James) Hart and their son Maxwell; and nephew James Edberg (Forrest Kruger).

She is preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Charlotte Porter; and sister Marsha Reynolds.

Visitation and funeral are Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the Crossville United Methodist Church in Crossville, Illinois. Visitation is at 10 am; funeral will follow at 12 noon, followed by cremation.

Memorials may be made to the Vanderburgh County Humane Society and will be accepted at Cook Funeral Chapel who is in charge of arrangements.
