Darr Lynn Kay Klomhaus (Staley)
1938 - 2024

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, sister, and friend Darr Lynn Kay Klomhaus (Staley), 86 years old, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 6th, 2024, due to complications she suffered from a stroke.

She was born to Henry and Velma Staley (Pollard), on June 20th, 1938, and raised in Carmi, IL along with her two siblings Mike Staley (Jane) of Carmi, IL and Judy Barlow (Don) of Cherry Valley, CO. She left her roots in Southern IL and traveled to Chicago to attend nursing school at Northwestern. She graduated from Northwestern and later finished out her nursing career at Caterpillar in Montgomery, IL. On October 10th, 1959, she married Ken Klomhaus (deceased April 2020) and settled down in Sugar Grove, IL where they would raise their three wonderful sons, Jaime Klomhaus (Trisha) of Boulder, CO, Craig Klomhaus (Christina) of Niwot, CO and Trent Klomhaus (Jennifer) of Washington, IL.

She was a proud grandmother of eight grandchildren- Alex, Derek, Rachel, Dylan, Storm, Brock, Kaylin and Kenzy- and loved her dog, Suzie. Darr Lynn was an active member of the Sugar Grove community involved in many local events and activities with the school, library, church, sports, and traveling. As adventurous souls, Darr Lynn and Ken spent time over roughly 15 years travelling around the United States in their motor home to visit family and friends and explore new places.

Known as an instinctively generous and caring person, Darr Lynn always put her love for her family first and foremost. When not taking part in hobbies like quilting, biking, reading, or baking sugar cookies for loved ones at Christmastime, she could often be found playing (and winning) games like Scrabble, Euchre, and Mahjong. She will be remembered for her energetic, positive presence, joy for life and appreciation for the beauty in nature.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Park Foundation (nationalparksfoundation.org/) would be appreciated.
