Daphne Ellene (James) Fulkerson BartleyNorris City, IL

Daphne Ellene (James) Fulkerson Bartley, 91, passed into glory Saturday, September 2, 2023. Daphne was born to Emeart and Donna (Frymire) James on January 28, 1932. Daphne lived most of her life in the Norris City and Carmi area. She wed Doyle Fulkerson and together they were blessed with three children. They were wed until his young death at age 47, December 31, 1975. In 1981, Daphne married Donald Bartley and they were wed until his death, December 28, 2008. Daphne worked many years at the Ainsbrook Garment Factory and underground for Amax Coal Company Keensburg from which she retired.

Survivors include her daughters, Darlene (Thomas) Sparrow and Beverly (Allen) Stricklin; grandchildren; Tracy (Tony) Evans, Joey Fulkerson, and DJ Fulkerson; great-grandchildren, Bryson Sageser, Hannah (Damon) Hinton, Chloe Evans, and Isaiah Evans along with a great-great-granddaughter, Zoey Hinton and a sister Norma Batteese Daphne was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, her son daughter-in-law Dale and Janice Fulkerson, grandson, Ryan Sparrow and her siblings Cletus James, Daisy O'Neal, Leon James, Donna Cox, Donald James, and Verda Shepherd.

Funeral Services for Daphne Fulkerson Bartley will be held at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City, IL at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, with burial following immediately at Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven, IL. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
