Connie Sue Loyd, 73 of Carmi, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at her home. She was born on Wednesday, January 16, 1952, in Carmi, the daughter of Paul and Genevieve (Baker) Kingery. On April 15, 1973, she married Freddie James Loyd in Shawneetown and together they have shared over 52 years of marriage.
Connie was retired having spent many years working at the Carmi Doctors Clinic in reception, she also worked in marketing with local media and in sales for Kingery and Associates. Connie was a woman of faith and worshiped with her family at Ashland Christian Church. Together she and Fred were members of the American Quarter Horse Association. Connie started the mini majorettes’ program for young girls in Carmi. She enjoyed being with her horses and dogs and taking long rides in her red Corvette. Connie was a kind and tenderhearted who took care of others helped them succeed in life. She loved her family and the time she spent with them.
In addition to her husband Fred Loyd of Carmi, Connie is survived by her children Brittany Loyd of Carmi and Tony (Jennifer) Loyd of Mt. Carmel; grandson Gunner Loyd and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Gary Kingery and Ron Kingery.
A service celebrating Connie’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday March 8 2025 at Ashland Christian Church, 225 County Road 475 East, Mill Shoals, IL with Pastors Braden Willis and Mike Buckman officiating. Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Connie's Memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted by Roberts and Cook Funeral Service who has been entrusted with the arrangements.
